About us
We know the needs of the theatre and event industry from decades of experience and Since 2015, we have been developing computer aided design and computer aided engineering solutions in 2D and 3D at the highest level. In addition to our own app Production Assist, we support application platforms such as Vectorworks, grandMA3, AutoCAD, and BricsCAD.
Hands-on Knowledge Meets Innovation
Production Assist was founded and developed by Moritz Staffel. As a trained theatre technician with many years of experience in event technology, he began working on his own software solutions early on. Shortly after graduating, he developed AutoSTAGE Analysis, an AutoCAD plugin for calculating load capacities and structural analyses, at the time one of the few solutions of its kind in the industry.
His work led to a long-standing collaboration with Vectorworks, from which Braceworks emerged, an add-on for Vectorworks Spotlight for the structural analysis of trusses and stage constructions.
In parallel, he helped develop GDTF (General Device Type Format), an open standard for the uniform description of devices in the entertainment industry. The format was officially recognized by the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and is now established worldwide in lighting consoles, CAD systems, and previsualization systems.
Since 2019, he has been developing Production Assist as a cross-platform software solution for temporary structures that, for the first time, combines structural calculations, documentation, and direct access to an engineering office within one continuous workflow.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a way of working in which speed and safety are not a contradiction. Production Assist was developed with the aim of making event planning safer and more efficient, as a central platform specifically tailored to the needs of the event industry and designed so that all project participants can work hand in hand.
